I describe myself as a theological education "imagineer." I grew up in Hong Kong and immigrated to North America at the age of 17. As a "1.5-generation" immigrant, I feel deeply committed to building bridges between Chinese and Western cultures, as well as across generations.
I earned my Master of Divinity (with a concentration in Biblical Theology) from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in California, and my Ph.D. in Church History from Baylor University. I am an ordained minister under the Canadian Baptist of Western Canada. I am passionate about holistic Christian formation. During the pandemic, I became acutely aware of the stress and emotional challenges faced by seminarians and pastors, which led me to pursue an Advanced Diploma in Art Therapy. My hope is to integrate art therapy, theological reflection, and spiritual formation to equip and nurture God’s servants and lay leaders.
My teaching areas include Church History, Spiritual Formation, Worship Studies, and Theological Reflection & Ministry Integration. My academic research focuses on the history of early Chinese churches in Canada and next-generation studies in the Chinese Canadian church.
