Community Life and Spiritual Formation are important core values in the curriculum design at CCST Vancouver. Beyond class time, students deepen their relationship with God and build deeper spiritual friendships through weekly chapel, care groups, and retreats.
CCST Vancouver is committed to fostering spiritual growth and guarding our unity as the body of Christ. One of the ways we seek to facilitate this is through our communal worship in chapel. The purpose of the chapel time is to promote the holistic development of students, staff and faculty through corporate worship, to give students the opportunity for planning and leading worship, to expose students to leaders who are competent models for ministry, to build community, to praise God together, and to raise awareness to the issues of living as a Christian in our world.
The CCST Vancouver Student Council is an elected and appointed body, prayerfully serving the school community as a liaison between students and administration. The Council seeks to create avenues to nurture and strengthen community life on campus.
Care groups are mutual support fellowships where students receive support for their body, mind, and spirit. Many students establish lasting friendships from the care groups, and form a lifelong peer spiritual support network.
All students, spouses of the students, faculty, board members and staff are invited to join our Annual Student Retreat at the end of August each year. This is the opportunity to learn, share and pray together as a community. We will hold our student orientation in the retreat as well.
A half-day Silent Retreat is organized once every quarter. The purpose of this retreat is to provide an opportunity for students to intentionally get away from their daily routines and spend time alone with God, meditating on His word and listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit. All students are expected to attend.
Rev. Dr. Zion Wu is the Director of the CCST Vancouver Choir. She leads our students into a worshipful life and prepares the choir to participate in various public events of our school.
