Rev. Dr. Joyce Chan
I describe myself as a theological education "imagineer." I grew up in Hong Kong and immigrated to North America at the age of 17. As a "1.5-generation" immigrant, I feel deeply committed to building bridges between Chinese and Western cultures, as well as across generations.
I earned my Master of Divinity (with a concentration in Biblical Theology) from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in California, and my Ph.D. in Church History from Baylor University. I am an ordained minister under the Canadian Baptist of Western Canada. I am passionate about holistic Christian formation. During the pandemic, I became acutely aware of the stress and emotional challenges faced by seminarians and pastors, which led me to pursue an Advanced Diploma in Art Therapy. My hope is to integrate art therapy, theological reflection, and spiritual formation to equip and nurture God’s servants and lay leaders.
My teaching areas include Church History, Spiritual Formation, Worship Studies, and Theological Reflection & Ministry Integration. My academic research focuses on the history of early Chinese churches in Canada and next-generation studies in the Chinese Canadian church.
Rev. Dr. Edwin Lee
I joined CCST Vancouver full-time in January 2022. I was born in Hong Kong and grew up in the church. At a young age, I dreamed of becoming a space scientist, but at the age of 14, during the Cultural Revolution, I felt a calling to become a China evangelist. I patiently waited for God’s guidance.
When I was 19, I came to Canada to study Electrical Engineering at the University of British Columbia. It wasn't until I was 24 that I received a renewed confirmation of my calling. I then entered Regent College to be equipped and met individuals who profoundly shaped my life, including Dr. Klaus Bockmuehl, who illuminated my journey in theology. Later, I met Dr. Jonathan Chao, the founder of China Ministries International and joined his work.
Including the later time serving with GETS Theological Seminary, I have spent 34 years in China ministries, focusing on theological education as a response to God’s call to be an evangelist. I chose to study St. Augustine for my Ph.D., hoping to ground Chinese theology in the foundation of Patristics. I hope to complete an 8-volume series on China Theology. Volume 5, which was published in 2024, is titled *Life of Faith Virtue in Divine-Human Relation: A Person Ethics Dedicated to the Chinese People.*
Dr. Reuben Lee
I focus on the early church, the society and culture of Judaea during the Second Temple period, the history and archaeology of Palestine in the early Roman period, as well as Old and New Testament studies. I served as a research fellow at the Albright Institute of Archaeological Research in Jerusalem, Israel, and as a research assistant to professors at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and York University in Toronto. I have taught Old and New Testament studies at universities and theological seminaries in Canada, Australia, and Hong Kong.
Dr. Mary Wang
I was born and raised in a small village in mainland China. For the first twenty-five years of my life, I had never heard about God. During my university years, I experienced a deep, unnamed longing and spent many years searching for what my heart yearned for.
In my first graduate school class, my American teacher shared the gospel with me. The moment I heard the word “God,” my heart was deeply warmed, and I immediately realized that God was the one I had been longing for all along. Without hesitation, I accepted Jesus as my Savior.
I earned my first Ph.D. in Christian Studies, specializing in the theological thought of C. S. Lewis, and I also translated Lewis’s *Mere Christianity* and *The Four Loves* into Chinese. My passion for Scripture led me to pursue a Master’s degree in biblical languages at Regent College. Since then, I have developed a steadfast commitment to Hebrew and Greek, always starting my sermon preparation with the original text.
In 2019, I followed God’s call to pursue a second Ph.D. in Old Testament studies at Wycliffe College, University of Toronto. I look forward to completing my program and using my academic expertise to serve God and the community at CCST Vancouver.

I graduated from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in 2022 with a Master of Divinity. After graduation, I served as a pastor at a Chinese church in Vancouver, Canada. In 2025, I began pursuing a doctoral degree at Wycliffe College, University of Toronto, specializing in Church History.
Before studying theology, I was a partner at an international law firm and practiced law in Hong Kong and China for many years. In 2018, responding to God’s calling, I resigned from my legal career, transitioned into pastoral ministry, and embarked on the path of full-time ministry.

Rev. Dr. Kar Park Chan
I was born and raised in Malaysia. Upon my graduation from Singapore Bible College (B.Th. 1977) and Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div. 1981, D.Min. 1985). I served as full-time faculty at the Malaysia Bible Seminary from 1981 to 1984. I spent 21 years at Richmond Chinese Alliance Church (1989-2009), initially pastoring the English congregation for six years. Later, I assumed the role of the Assistant District Superintendent for the Canadian Pacific District of the Christian & Missionary Alliance in Canada from 2009 until my retirement in 2020. Throughout my ministry, I also had the privilege of teaching as a session faculty member at Ambrose University College, the Alliance Bible Seminary of Central and South America in Panama, and Carey Theological College in Vancouver.
Rev. Dr. Samuel Ho
Born and raised in Hong Kong, I was blessed to grow up in a Christian family and began following Christ at the age of six. I have been actively serving as a Sunday school teacher since the age of 18. Along with several church members, I helped establish the Mission Department at North Point Alliance Church. After graduating from CGST, I was commissioned by the Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA) Hong Kong to serve as a church planter and missionary in Melbourne, Australia, in 1986. This mission led to the establishment of Victoria Chinese Alliance Church in 1987.
In addition to my ministry, I have a deep passion for calligraphy and painting, which I consider both a hobby and a way to express my faith through art. I also seek to help students understand how Christian truth interacts with culture and how this can be expressed through various forms of art. Art, as a manifestation of the human spirit, allows individuals to construct values and belief systems in material forms. I encourage my students to explore how messages and mindsets from different cultures are communicated through mediums like paintings, films, literature, music, architecture, and dance, providing them with the tools to understand and engage with artistic freedom for the Lord, helping students integrate their faith with their creative expression in a meaningful and impactful way.
Dr. Archie Hui
I was born in Hong Kong and spent my first 15 years there. I came to faith shortly before leaving Hong Kong for the UK, where I completed my secondary education. I then studied at the University of Bristol and later worked as a computer programmer in Reading and Bristol. Not long after, I moved to Vancouver and completed my MDiv at Regent College, before heading to Aberdeen, Scotland, to pursue a PhD in New Testament studies.
Since earning my PhD, I taught as a sessional lecturer at Regent College before spending nine years at a seminary in Taipei. I returned to Vancouver in 2005 and began teaching at CCST around 2014. I believe God has called me to theological education, and I’ve had the privilege of teaching the New Testament both in Taipei and Vancouver, including at CCST. I see this as the best way to invest my life and hope to make a lasting impact by raising up other servants of God.
While in Taipei, I enjoyed playing badminton, and since returning to Vancouver, I’ve taken up table tennis, playing about twice a week.
Rev. Dr. Simon Lee
I was born in Hong Kong and lived in Sabah, Malaysia, before coming to Winnipeg, Canada, in 1969 to study science and education. It was during that same year that I dedicated my life to serving God at the Winter Conference. I married Lydia on June 26, 1976, and afterward, I helped my parents with the family business in Sabah for over a year. Lydia and I are blessed with four married children and eight grandchildren, and our family of 18 now all live in Vancouver.
In 1978, I began my theological training at Regent College in Canada, studying under J.I. Packer and Klaus Bockmuehl. I later pursued doctoral studies at Western Seminary, UBC, under Robert C. Anderson, and further graduate studies in counseling psychology at the University of British Columbia, with John Banmen and Virginia Satir.
I began serving as a pastor in 1980 and also became involved in teaching theology. Over the course of 45 years in ministry, including 18 years full-time, I first served as a professor at the Alliance Bible Seminary in Hong Kong, followed by teaching at the Divinity School of Chung Chi College at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. After 45 years of service, I am now retired from full-time ministry.

I am also an adjunct professor at the CCST Vancouver, where I direct the school's choir.

I was born and raised in Hong Kong, where I felt God's calling and enrolled in the Bible Seminary of Hong Kong for training. After graduating in 1994, I dedicated myself to church ministry. During my time in Hong Kong, I also earned a Master of Christian Ministry from the China Bible Seminary and a Master of Divinity from the Lutheran Theological Seminary. In 2000, under God's guidance, I moved to Vancouver and joined Burnaby Pacific Grace Church as a pastor, where I currently serve as the senior pastor.
My research interests include biblical studies, spiritual formation, homiletics, pastoral theology, and religious psychology. In addition to my academic pursuits, I enjoy reading, playing basketball, and watching TV shows and movies. My wife, Winnie Chik, is a professional counselor. Together, we’ve raised two cats, Nosey and Naughty, and we now have two more, Mr. Nice and Noisy.
Pastoring the church, providing spiritual guidance, and engaging in theological education have always been the calling and passion God has given me. Being able to participate in theological education at CCST, walking alongside future pastors, sharing my experiences, and shaping their lives is a way for me to live out that calling.
