Why do we care so deeply about young ministry leaders?

Across Metro Vancouver, much of the youth and campus ministry in Chinese churches is carried by young leaders serving quietly behind the scenes. They invest their time, energy, and emotions to walk alongside teenagers, listen to their life stories, and lead meetings and activities.

However, behind their passionate service, these young leaders often simultaneously face the pressures of academics, career, family, and daily life. The mental fatigue of the post-pandemic era, the high cost of living in the city, and the rapid shifts in youth culture have all made ministry increasingly challenging.

We have heard their shared heartbeat:
They long for a space to rest, a community to walk with, and an opportunity to realign their calling and direction.

What do we want to do with this program?

Through this initiative, CCST Vancouver will invite 15–20 youth leaders (aged 39 or under) from 4–8 local Chinese churches to embark on a journey of recharging and walking together. We envision this not merely as a series of scheduled activities, but as a spiritual pilgrimage: beginning with personal rest and renewal, extending to community connection, and ultimately bringing a blessing to the entire church and city.

This program is a vital component of the CCST Vancouver Centre for Next Gen Discipleship.

Our vision is to provide accompaniment, equipping, and space during the critical life and ministry stages of the younger generation. We aim to help them take root and grow in their faith, life, and calling, while building deeper connections with both the church and the city.

We firmly believe that when youth leaders are well-cared for, supported, and nurtured, they will be empowered to walk alongside the even younger generation with even greater strength.

Program Highlights

This one-year journey of rest, learning, and walking together includes:

🌿[May 18] Reset: A Day Retreat for Rest and Renewal (Mandarin)
A day dedicated to the holistic renewal of spirit, soul, and body. On this day, youth leaders will temporarily set aside the pressures of daily ministry. Through guided devotions, quiet reflection, and sharing, they will reconnect with God and their personal calling—finding the rest and strength needed to revitalize their future service.

🤝[July 11] Connect: A Day of Peer Learning & Sharing (Mandarin)
A full-day gathering designed to provide leaders with space for sharing, learning, and mutual support. By exchanging honest ministry experiences, discussing challenges, and exploring sustainable youth ministry practices, youth leaders will build deep relationships and begin to envision how cross-church collaboration can collectively drive spiritual growth in the next generation.

🔥 [October 2–3] Ignite: Youth Revival Conference (Mandarin/English)
A collaborative effort to plan a Metro Vancouver-wide youth revival conference, putting learning into action. Participants will pool their leadership and spiritual gifts to design a gathering filled with hope and spiritual power—offering a concrete and vibrant blessing to NextGen followers and bringing the vision of "Revival through Walking Together" to life.

At the heart of this program is a simple yet powerful progress:
Personal Renewal → Building a Peer Community → A Witness of Renewal for the Church and Youth.

We firmly believe that this is not just a short-term event, but a long-term journey of accompaniment—opening up new possibilities and horizons for NextGen discipleship.
