As the saying goes, “The source of our ability does not lie in the one who is called, but in the God who calls.”
Over the past three years, by God’s grace, I have experienced three different homes. These three homes have given me three different kinds of strength to walk through the highs and lows of my theological journey.
First, my theological home—the seminary—has given me the ability to serve. The seminary has equipped me with theological knowledge. In my Systematic Theology class, one remark from my professor became a deep reminder to me: “When we find the world beautiful, behind it there must be the Creator.” Therefore, whenever I enter nature and take in a moment of quietness and beautiful scenery, I become aware of God’s presence, and peace arises in my heart. Every time I climb a mountain, no matter how many difficulties there may be, hope remains.
The seminary has taught me this: “Christ is in our daily living, and our daily living is in Christ.”
Second, my spiritual home—the church—has given me the motivation to serve. Whenever I witness brothers and sisters making decisions to believe in the Lord through ministry, I am filled with excitement and gratitude. I thank God for using me as a channel through which the gospel may enter the lives of others. From my experience as a social worker to my journey as a student intern, I have come to see people’s needs and God’s compassionate care.
I am especially thankful to the brothers and sisters who have loved us throughout these years, giving support and encouragement to my family and me. All these have become the driving force behind my service.
Lastly, my beloved home—my family—has given me the deepest motivation to serve.
I sincerely thank my wife for all her sacrifices over the years. She has tirelessly cared for our family, allowing me to balance ministry and studies. She has fought alongside me and served together with me. Her support and sacrifices remind me clearly that every fruit borne in ministry is not only the result of God’s gracious guidance, but also the encouragement and quiet dedication of my wife. I am deeply grateful to have met my wife, who has stood by me and supported me faithfully.
At the same time, I am thankful that God has blessed our family with two lovely children, allowing me to be part of their lives as they grow. These are truly blessings that God has given to our family.
Looking ahead, I hope to bring together my experiences and the training I have received:
to help people throughout my life,
and to glorify God throughout my life.
Philippians 4:13
“I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.”
You are not the only one,
but you must be the right one.
May all glory, praise, and honor be given to our Heavenly Father.
