Description: This is an integrated subject for senior students. It focuses on the church community and
runs through God’s work on earth, including the original creation community, the sinner
community, and the Israel (Law) community. It also provides a comprehensive
understanding of the church community, including the creation of God the Father in Christ
through the Holy Spirit, the ultimate destination, and the necessary activities in this world:
worship, preaching, sacraments, social relations, missions, and the relationship with the
government. This allows students to have a comprehensive understanding of the nature,
ministry, and mission of the church community before entering the workplace.

教改革至現代社會及教會所經歷的挑戰與變化。除了陳述西方社會世俗化的走向，科學主
義、民族主義及現代文化對教會的沖擊，也分析教會各種制度的演變及神學思想的發展。
本科幫助同學系統掌握從宗教改革到現代的教會發展歷史，並深化我們對教會與社會
之間互動的認識，以至於在當代社會，基督教能夠彰顯公共見證，進而表達對社會的適切
關懷。學生也可以更好的理解現代神學思想的發展脈絡。
Students will acquire an understanding of the church history from the Reformation till the
modern times. We will be more aware of the interactions between the church and our society. As
a result, we will learn to witness our faith in the society and appropriately expresses concerns
about it. Students will also have a better understanding of the development of modern theological
thoughts.
This course explores the changes and challenges that the society and church in Europe and
America experienced from the Reformation till the end of the twentieth century (1500-1990). A
focus will be on how the church is influenced by secularization, scientificism, nationalism, and
modernism. We also discuss the changes of different systems in church and the development of
theological thoughts of this period.

This course explores the biblical foundations and theological framework of spiritual
formation. Through both personal and communal spiritual practices, students will develop
a holistic model of spiritual growth. Integrating theoretical instruction with practical
exercises, the course is grounded in Scripture and informed by theological reflection,
guiding students to understand the nature and process of spiritual formation. Students will
be encouraged to emulate the character of Christ, embody His likeness, and practice a
ministry model of “life influencing life” within the church.

The Capstone Integrative Project is a culminating guided research experience that begins with actual ministry situations that invite theological inquiry and reflection, leading students to develop practical and contextually relevant recommendations. It provides an opportunity for students to integrate what they have learned throughout their theological studies and engage a significant issue arising from their own ministry practice or congregational context. Faculty members from different academic disciplines will co-teach the course to demonstrate approaching a ministry issue from different angles and perspectives.

Special emphasis is put on the application on apologetic evangelism, pastoral ministries, missiological considerations, and theological contextualization.

This course is designed for those who are involved in pastoral ministry. You will examine
the general theological, cultural, and practical foundations of pastoral care. You will
enhance your practical pastoral skills applicable to your specific ministry setting. The
primary focus is for you to improve skills for officiating weddings, funerals, child
dedications, baptisms and Holy Communion, as well as handling hospital visitations, crisis,
and general pastoral care.

Description: 「成年初顯期」（Emerging Adulthood）指18–29歲之間的年輕人。此階段的青年在社會、文化及個人成長等多重因素影響下，積極探索自我身份、人生使命與群體歸屬，處於人生轉化與塑造的重要時期。
本課程旨在深入探討成年初顯期青年的生命特質、所面對的挑戰與機會，特別關注他們在信仰旅程中的掙扎與成長。透過認識當代青年的處境與文化背景，幫助同學從聖經與實踐神學的角度，反思及建構適切的青年事工策略，使教會能更有效推動與發展青年事工，並以更貼近生命需要的方式牧養成年初顯期群體。
“Emerging Adulthood” refers to young people between the ages of 18 and 29. During this stage, influenced by social, cultural, and personal developmental factors, young adults actively explore their identity, life purpose, and sense of belonging. It is a crucial period of transition and formation in life.
This course aims to examine in depth the characteristics of emerging adults, as well as the challenges and opportunities they face—especially focusing on their struggles and growth in their faith journey. By understanding the context and cultural background of contemporary young people, students will be guided to reflect on and develop appropriate youth ministry strategies from biblical and practical theological perspectives. The goal is to equip the church to more effectively promote and develop youth ministry, and to pastor emerging adults in ways that more closely address their life needs.

Book of Ezekiel

Description: This course will provide an overview of the messages of Ezekiel in light of its theological, historical and literary settings. Students will acquire knowledge of the role of prophecy in the time of a national disaster, in which the Kingdom of Judah, Jerusalem, and its Temple underwent God's judgment through the hands of the Babylonians. Emphasis will be placed on God's revelation to Ezekiel and the Judaeans in Babylonian captivity. Students will exegete passages of the book and identify its major themes and literary forms.
